Sarah’s work critiques current practices in pregnancy, birth, and parenting, and her blend of solid scientific evidence with anthropological, psychological and experiential perspectives is widely acclaimed. Sarah’s writing has been published in parenting and professional publications worldwide, including Mothering, Midwifery Today and MIDIRS Midwifery Digest (UK) and she has lectured in the US, Australia and New Zealand on these topics. Sarah lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband and four children, aged 7 to 17.
“Sarah Buckley is precious, because she is bilingual. She can speak the language of a mother who gave birth to her four children at home. She can also speak like a medical doctor. By intermingling the language of the heart and the scientific language she is driving the history of childbirth towards a radical and inspiring new direction.” Dr. Michel Odent, obstetrician, author and natural birth pioneer
